Change the UNIX root password

Login with username root using ssh

Then type "passwd" (without the quotes) and hit enter

You will now be prompted to enter new UNIX password.

Type this information and hit enter

Now you will be prompted to Retype new UNIX password.

Again type the new password and hit enter

The password should now be changed to the one that you specified.
